Description
A Newton Color Disc is a tool used to demonstrate that white light is composed of a mixture of colors. It consists of a circular disc divided into segments of different colors, usually the seven colors of the visible spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet). When spun rapidly, the colors blend together due to persistence of vision, appearing as white or off-white to the human eye. This effect illustrates how white light is a combination of these colors.
